Collective POP-UP Shop at Knysna Oyster Festival 6-15 July 2012

Knysna Tourism, Knysna Mall and the CCDI are pleased to open the applications for participation in a small collective POP-UP shop at Knysna Mall for the duration of the Knysna Oyster Festival 6-15 July 2012. A POP-UP SHOP is a shop that is set up for a short duration in a shop that is not being occupied.

The Oyster Festival in Knysna which has been in existence for 28 years does not have a platform for locally made hand craft. It was decided to arrange this store at a late stage so that producers from the Eden District could be given more market exposure at this Festival.

The aim of this event is to showcase exceptional products that are produced by local craft producers. Applicants should be aware that there is a selection criterion. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by Friday 22 June and informed of procedures thereafter.

Should you wish to apply to participate in this prominent event, please ensure that your application form, together with the required images is submitted to the CCDI by 15 June 2012. Unfortunately no late applications will be considered. Apply to Heather Adonis on heather.adonis@ccdi.org.za

There is no participation fee attached to this event, but a 20% commission will be payable to CCDI on all sales made during the event. The store will be set up by CCDI and Knysna Tourism who are determined to make the store exciting and professional looking.

Selection Criteria - Products must:
-be handmade in the Eden District, Western Cape
-not be easily available in the marketplace
-not be mass produced or infringe on any copyright
-a preference will be given to quality product that exhibits a high standard of execution
-be unique, original, creative and fairly priced and not readily available in the marketplace

Preference will be given to new products created by emerging producers.

We look forward to receiving your applications.

Best Regards
