Danielle van den Heever was a excellent matric student and headgirl of Wittedrift High in 2011. She received six distinctions for her matric year. Because of her academic results, leadership qualities and her participation in various sport activities, she was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship Award and bursary of the University of Port Elizabeth. She is busy with her studies in Marine Biology.

The Holiday spirit has defiantly hit The Gym with every on dressing up in Red & White for the few days before Christmas! alot of FUN was has by all!

Sedgefield Locals do it again at the I.S.K.A Destiny tournament (S.A kick boxing champs) Sedgefield had 7 fighters go and brought home 9 medals. Most of these fighters will be going to the world champs in June next year if anyone is willing or able to help these fighters achieve this goal contact Bronwyn Lloyd at Sedgefield gym on 082 3060 509.

The Southern Cape town of Sedgefield has become Africa’s first “slow town.”

The international Cittaslow movement promotes quality living. It originated in Italy about ten years ago.

There are now nearly 100 Cittaslow towns worldwide in countries like Australia, Germany and Canada.

The SA Slowtown Movement’s André Gauche said the town’s population may not exceed 50,000.

“We have no heavy industry here, we look after the environment, we’ve got a very militant environmental side of our community that really looks after the environment,” he said
